Glyde St.
Reimagining the traditional commercial setting found along Glyde Street, our design lends itself to the future vision for Mosman Park’s town centre.
As Mosman Park transforms into a medium density setting, it requires novel housing typologies in order to cultivate an active and thriving community. We’re adopting a mixed-use approach to this site, providing both short stay and long-term residential dwellings only a few hundred metres from the Fremantle train line.
While the podium’s rhythms and textures are in reference to the heritage shopfronts and houses of the area, the tower forms stand in reference to the banks of the Swan River.
This development signifies a new era for the Tsunami restaurant. Aside from a brand-new, purpose-built Tsunami restaurant, the development further celebrates Japanese dining culture through the introduction of yokochos, the tiny, ‘lively alleyways’ found between the bustling streets of Tokyo.
Drawing from these yokochos, we’re promoting the walkability of the Glyde Street setting, while also providing ample bicycle parking–invigorating and encouraging the street’s already strong connection to public transportation.
